Thankfully Reading Mini-Challenge #1

Jenn's Bookshelves has set a Thankfully Reading Mini-Challenge to tell what book you are most thankful for. This is a hard question because there are so many books I am thankful for.
I really can't narrow down a single book so I have gone with an entire series. The Betsy-Tacy Series are the books I am most thankful for. They have been my favorite books for years but they have become very special to me. I was laid off two years ago and it was a very difficult time for me as I had to transition from working 60 plus hours per week in my dream job to being unemployed. I began to experience anxiety and one of the few things that could help me curb this was reading the Betsy-Tacy books. They are so warm, familiar and comforting. I will always be thankful for these books for helping me get through that difficult time!

  5. I gave a set of those away two BBAWs ago. I knew I should have held on to them! I'm so glad you shared this. There's always the library. :)

  7. I discovered this series one summer during the library's summer reading program. I devoured the whole series one book right after the other. I loved Betsy, Tacy, and Tib. I thought no one else had ever heard of them and then they reissued them and I was so thrilled when people all over were reading them. GREAT series. And so glad to hear your story about how they provided you comfort.
